Product Information
Recombinant Murine Eotaxin-2/CCL24
Synonyms: CCL24, MPIF-2, CkB-6
Description: Eotaxin-2 is a CC chemokine that signals through the CCR3 receptor. It is produced by
activated monocytes and T lymphocytes. Eotaxin-2 selectively chemoattracts cells expressing CCR3
including eosinophils, basophils, Th2 T cells, mast cells, and certain subsets of dendritic cells.
Additionally, Eotaxin-2 inhibits the proliferation of multipotential hematopoietic progenitor cells. The
mature protein, which also includes a C-terminal truncation, contains 78 amino acid residues (92 a.a.
residues for the murine homolog, without C-terminal truncation). Recombinant murine Eotaxin-2 is an
10.3 kDa protein containing 93 amino acid residues.
Source: E.coli
Purity: Greater than 98% by SDS-PAGE gel and HPLC analyses
Endotoxin level: Endotoxin level is less than 0.1 ng per mg (1EU/mg).
Formulation: Sterile filtered through a 0.2 micron filter. Lyophilized with no additives.
Reconstitution: Centrifuge the vial prior to opening. Reconstitute in water to a concentration of
0.5-1.0 mg/ml. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers and
stored at 4oC for 1 week or -20oC for future use.
Stability: The lyophilized protein is stable for a few weeks at room temperature, but best
stored at -20oC. Reconstituted Eotaxin-2 should be stored in working aliquots at -
20oC.
Biological Activity: Determined by its ability to chemoattract murine lymphocytes using a
concentration range of 10.0-100.0 ng/ml.
